MOSCOW: A top Russian counter-terrorism expert on Sunday underlined that the Mumbai attackers were not “ordinary terrorists” and were probably
trained by the special operations forces set up in Pakistan by the US intelligence prior to the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan.

“The handwriting and character of the Mumbai events demonstrates that they were not ordinary terrorists,” said Vladimir Klyukin, an Afghan war veteran.

“Behind this terrorist attack there are ‘Green Flag’ special operations forces, which were created by the Americans in Pakistan, just an year before the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan, and in the initial period were under full US control,” stressed Klyukin, a veteran of the special “Vympel” commando group of the former Soviet KGB.

He said for such guerrilla operations at least two-three years of preparatory work with the involvement of experienced instructors is required.

Klyukin did not rule out that the Mumbai attackers could have taken part in similar attacks in other regions.

“People from the streets, without any planning and training are simply not able to hold four big complexes in a city so long,” Soviet special services veteran was quoted as saying by largest Russian Interfax news agency.

He also presumed that there were at least 50 attackers given the geography and scale of the strikes.

Klyukin lauded the “right” decision of the Indian authorities not to succumb to terrorist demands.

He, however, regretted that India lacks special anti-terror units similar to the Russian, Israeli, British or German.

Nearly 200 people were killed in the multiple terror attacks in the Indian financial capital, hitting five-star hotels and other targets frequented by Westerners

An official at KESE said. “At around 8:00 PST, WAPDA cut its 300 MW supplies to us and as a result the entire system tripped,” said Syed Sultan Hasan, spokesman for Karachi Electric Supply Co. which supplies power to Karachi. “KESC owes Rs34.8 billion to us and we have been writing to them every week to make at least some payment,” said WAPDA spokesman, Tahir Basharat Cheema. “Let alone making payments, they’re not even replying to our letters,” he said. However, Cheema said partial supplies had now been restored. Officials said a prolonged breakdown could cause major disruptions.

Perhaps the perpetrators’ level of civilization goes no further than that, or they have demonstrated an inability to overcome their obsession about insulting other people’s religious figures and sentiments in the name of freedom of expression. Like the religious extremists, they, too, would perfectly fit Winston Churchill’s definition of a fanatic: “A fanatic is a person who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.” The newspapers say they have done this in response to the foiled plot by three Muslims of murdering the cartoonist who had drawn one of the offensive cartoons in September 2005 in order to take a stand against self-censorship.

Terrorism appears to be of two kinds. A visible one, where people are attacked physically, which makes the victims’ body bleed. This is often being done by militants – Muslim and nonMuslim – who claim to be fighting for their freedom, as in Afghanistan, Iraq, many states of India and Sri Lanka, or to protect their religion from hostile forces.

The other is the invisible one, where some people are subjected to emotional jibes, which makes their hearts bleed, as in the case of the media that claims to be protecting its freedom of expression. These latter ones also claim to be most civilised and enlightened.

It is a moot point as to which form of terrorism is more harmful: the physical one that targets a few hundred or at the most a few thousand, or the psychological one that attacks over one billion

In Islam picture of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and other Humans are not allowed. But Wikipedia editors are showing illustrations with face illustrated and face is veiled or white washed. But still they are offensive to Muslims. I request all brothers and sisters to sign this petitions so we can tell Wikipedia to respect the religion and remove the illustrations.

If we go in flashback. I am taking about last bomb blast at a bus stop in Landhi, Karachi. About 9 to 10 people lost their lives among which one was a teen boy who is only supporter of his widowed mother. That little boy was only financial supporter for her.

During last few days, some new incidents being observed in Karachi, reference to so many emails, and newspaper read by me regarding suicide bombers on streets of Karachi .They first asking for lift on your vehicle and then order when u lifted him on your vehicle to attack on Police / Rangers Mobile where ever found.

Some police resources has also confirmed the above, but AlhamduliALLAH no successful attempt was reported.

Dawn, a leading newpaper has also published a story related to above

“The police are treating the latest bid by a suspected suicide bomber to ram a car into a police mobile casually. The incident, which occurred with the nephew of former Supreme Court chief justice Sajjad Ali Shah in the DHA, was reported to the police on Tuesday night.”

In view of above coward attempt, following directives have recently been issued from C.P.L.C for your security/ safety which must be followed in the present scenario.

•  IF YOU OBSERVE ANY PACKET/ PARCEL UNATTENDED ANYWHERE, INFORM CPLC/ POLICE.

• WHENEVER YOUR CAR HAS BEEN STOPPED FOR CHECKING BY POLICE, YOU SHOULD KEEP WATCH ON THEIR CHECKING, AS SOME INSTANCES HAVE BEEN REPORTED THAT POLICEMAN KEEPS SOMETHING IN THE CAR.

Said damaged  also affected Pakistan The SEA ME WE- 4 Submarine Cable encountered a cut of 25 kilometres from Alexandria Cable Station of SMW4 (segment 4/Alexandria-Marseilles).

APP, a pakistan leading news agency added his experience in this story from Lahore.

“The cable cut disrupted all west-bound (towards Europe) traffic on SMW4 of all major upstream service providers like TIS, Verizon, etc. Internet Service Providers Association Vice President and Brain Telecommunication Limited (BTL) Director Dr Shahid Farooq Alvi told APP here on Wednesday that as a result all major operators of the region, including Pakistan/BTL, are experiencing congestion on west-bound routes.

He said the BTL had already shifted traffic load to its alternative paths to reduce degradation in services of the customers and was also working closely with the partners to increase alternative capacity.

“Moreover, our upstream connectivity with FLAG is also disrupted and we are currently working with FLAG NOC to get the exact ETR,” he added. Regretting the inconvenience, he said the BTL is taking every possible action to ensure that its customers face minimal service quality issues from the disruption”.
